Head of People & Culture

Job description

Do you want to be part of a fast-growing startup while making a positive impact on the world?

About StudentFinance

StudentFinance is a venture-backed company with the mission of removing barriers to education and empowering economic mobility.

We deeply believe in the power of education and that access to education should not depend on one's financial background. Currently, millions of people are in need of reskilling and are not able to fulfill their potential due to financial barriers. So we are building the technological, data, and financial infrastructure to offer outcomes-based financing. Through Income Share Agreements, people defer the tuition payment and only start making payments after getting a job. ISAs are all about aligned incentives, and so are we at StudentFinance. Our end game is supporting our customer's transition to employment and financial health.

To get there, we are building a world-class team of purpose-driven and entrepreneurial people, working in a remote setting from cities across Europe.

Location

We are a remote first company! You can be based anywhere, however ideally in Europe considering time-zones as well as where all our team is currently located.

You must be legally authorized to work in the country you reside. We cannot sponsor any work visas.

Why you might be excited:

  • We’re tackling a big problem with even bigger potential.

  • You’ll be able to work remotely and (mostly) set your own schedule. StudentFinance was a remote-first team even before COVID, so we know what makes for a great remote environment.

  • You'll have a lot of flexibility in your role, and will be able to help define our culture and operations infrastructure going forward.

  • The company is backed by leading investors, such as Giant Ventures, Armilar VP, Seedcamp, Mustard Seed Maze, and Sabadell VC, as well as founders of successful startups such as Jobandtalent, Feedzai, Lendable, Monzo, Gocardless, Bolt.

Why you might *not* be excited:

  • We are a young company with about 25 people, so if you like more established companies, this role isn’t for you. You'll help create our company's culture.

  • We're an early stage startup. Projects and priorities are likely to shift.

  • Everyone on the team is extremely mission-driven, and works incredibly hard to push towards our lofty ambitions. Most people won’t be cut out for it.

  • You should be comfortable with just a dash of chaos. This is not the kind of job where you show up and we tell you exactly what to do every day.

  • If you’re looking for a 9-5 job, this role isn’t for you.
